Work Capability Assessment (UK)

Hi.
I have been given a WCA date and very worried can anyone advise me on what will happen. I have been told it's a horrible experience and they bully you and intimidate you. Any advice will be so helpful .. Thanks .

  1. Hi , as we are based in the US, I don't have much information on the WCA but I am hopeful other members of our community who are in the UK and have experience with this will share what they know! All the best, Sam S. (COPD.net, team member).

    1. Hi again, Martyn, and thanks for your post and question. I see my colleague, , has already responded to you, and I agree with her comment. I do hope you have an opportunity to look it over at your convenience.
I also have something to contribute. I did notice that you posted something similar (to your above stated concern), earlier on our community website about a week ago (on 11/22/22). Several of us have conversed with you on those posts of yours last week.
I do hope you were able to review those conversations as well.
For your convenience and ease of reference, here are links to our previous conversations on this topic:
      "Can anyone help...?": https://copd.net/members/communitymember58a5d9/status/122541.
      And "Work Capability Assessment": https://copd.net/forums/work-capability-assessment.
Both these conversations are from November 22 - and several of our team members are speaking with you about your concerns.
Please know we will be happy to assist you in any way that we can.
You've mentioned that you have been given a date to discuss the work place assessment. I imagine this is weighing heavy on your mind.
What are your present thoughts? How do you plan to prepare for this meeting?
      All the best,
      Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

      1. how frustrating! Did they give you a new appointment date? All the best, Sam S (COPD.net, team member).

      2. Hi Martyn, and thanks for letting us know this appointment (scheduled for November 28th), was canceled. I remember how anxious you were about getting there. You even shared there were 30+ steps to the front door!
Please do check back and let us know when the next appointment is and how it all turns out for you.
        Good luck!
