What is the best medicine for rib pain?

Looking for pain relief. What do you use?

  1. Hi - I hear you! You may be aware, we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics (over the internet), for your own safety. When it comes to medication and even pain medication, you will certainly want to bring your pain concerns (and need for relief!), to the attention of your doctor. Your physician would not only want to be made aware of your discomfort, he/she will, no doubt, want to prescribe something to help you feel better.
    What do you think?

    1. Thank you. I was just wondering what others did to relieve the stabbing, piercing, hot poker knife pain. I had no idea that copd comes with that.

      1. Hi Leon, Thankyou for your reply, I didn’t know that , I have learnt something today. Thankyou Leon.X

      2. Hi again, CopdGirl - I am happy to have been able to help! It would seem you were aware of this type of therapy - I only provided you with the name by which it is known in the medical community.
        Have another good evening!

    2. CommunityMember15b5b1 ,
I use numerous methods to deal with rib pain. I stretch and exercise using Qigong. It is a simpler form of Taichi. I have also used ace bandages wrapped around my ribcage to ease coughing pain and keep muscles from getting pulled or cartilage strains. Warm bath soak helps. Other than that, I take acetaminophen when necessary. Other than that, you need to contact your doctor and ask for help with the rib pain issue. Take care and God Bless.

      1. Hi! I am not someone who deals with rib pain so I don't have experience to share, but I thought I'd give you a few links to our archives. This is a popular topic of discussion around here and maybe you will get some good suggestions from previous conversations.
