Why/how does COPD make me (almost constantly) bloated and what can I do about it?

Certain foods make me bloat more. It's very quick when it happens. Also I have abdominal discomfort if pressure is applied. Any suggestions please?

  1. I JUST WANTED TO ASK OTHER COPD FRIENDS IF THEY KNOW OF HOUSEKEEPING PEOPLE LOOKING TO HELP CLEAN HOMES, THIS IS GETTING VERY HARD AND MY FAMILY HELPS BUT THEY ALSO WORK FULL TIME AND HATE TO BOTHER THEM WITH MY HOUSE CLEANING TOO, MY SONS ALREADY CUT THE GRASS, CLEAN THE POOL, GO SHOPPING AND I HATE TO PUT MORE ON THEM.

    1. I JUST HAD A VIDEO CALL WITH MY DR. IT WAS GREAT, I TOOK MY OWN BLOOD PRESSURE, AND THEN WITH THE PEDOMETER I TOOK MY OXYGEN AND HEART , WE TALKED TO EACH OTHER ON THE ZOOM SITE , I ONLY HAVE THAT WITH MY FAMILY DR. SO I DO HAVE TO GO TO MY HEART DR. AND LUNG DR. AT THEIR OFFICE. I AM AT HIGH RISK FOR THIS VIRUS GOING AROUND SO I DO STAY HOME AND MY CHILDREN GO SHOPPING FOR ME WHEN I NEED SOME THINGS, IT DOES GET VERY DEPRESSING TO STAY HOME BY YOURSELF EVERYDAY, BUT I TRY TO KEEP POSITIVE ABOUT KEEPING SAFE AT HOME. STILL HAVING BLOATING PROBLEMS THAT I CANT GET RID OF, BUT TRYING TO DRINK A LOT OF WATER AND EXERCISE HELP ME GET THROUGH THE DAY.

      1. Hi ! Great question. We have a wealth of resources on our site here about this very uncomfortable symptom that speak to why it happens and what a person with COPD can potentially do about it. You can find them all here: https://copd.net/?s=bloating I hope these help! -Alesandra (COPD.net Team)
