Has anyone else here been diagnosed with asthma and bronchiectasis, along with their COPD diagnosis?

Hi again, Granni2-4 and thanks for your post. While you may hear from others in the community, I thought you might find it helpful to look over this article concerning COPD in general: https://copd.net/living/different-types/.

Hi , I’m new to this site ,,, but yes is the answer , I was diagnosed with asthma at age 46 , then in 2004 I was told I also had bronchiectasis ,and then Copd , , I’ve been prescribed carbocisteine to help with chest clearance,,but I’m afraid I won’t be taking them anymore as yes they help ,,,,but I cough that much during clearance that my throat closes up ,,,and I get extremely breathless,

Hi Georgina - Welcome to the site! We're so happy to have you. It sounds like you have your hands full. Sadly what you descibe is not unusual when dealing with multiple chronic lung problems. A medication that helps one actually makes another worse. I hope you and your doctor are able to come up with an alternative that works as well.
