COPD and Relationships

How has COPD impacted your relationships with family, friends, and others (i.e. dating, coworkers, acquaintances, etc.)?

  1. I have had to explain to people that my attending events all depends on how I am feeling.

    1. helo Leon iv not been on here for some time. It is 8 years since I had a bullectamy and a pulectmy I am now 75 and on oxigin excuse spelling have had mostly good days but get very tired but I'm still here ihope you OK wally

    2. , we're glad to hear from you! I'm glad to hear you are still having good days. I hope you are able to give yourself some grace and get rest on the bad days. All the best, Sam S. (COPD team).

  2. It has caused a very small circle of people who stay around me.

    1. I too have tightened my circle of friends and former business associates and colleagues. No offense to those who find themselves on the outside of the circle, but keeping everyone informed is not only tiring, but it is emotionally counterproductive as it constantly reinforces my declining health.

    2. I need to stay focused on the positive aspects of life and not constantly remind myself of my failing health.

  3. Not being able to go to lunch or dinner with friends. Can't go to movies. Just name it 90 present of the time .And you are totally exhausted 😩 to want to go

    1. Covid changed everything so did getting put on oxygen

  4. It's hard, I was the one that did everything, now I can't even leave my house, my husband has been doing everything and at times ha gets mad, but I can't help it, at times I feel bad that my husband has to do everything

    1. ,

    2. Hi Janet. It looks like you were trying to respond to me, but it didn't quite work. Feel free to try again if you want! -Melissa, team member
