IS FEELING DIZZY A SYMPTON OF COPD

is keep feeling dizzy and keep falling over a sy mpton of COPD?

  1. ,
Feeling dizzy can be a symptom of COPD. It is caused by lack of oxygen getting to your brain. Dizziness and loss of balance can be caused by other causes also. Inner ear problems for example. You need to get in touch with your doctor and discuss your problem with dizziness and loss of balance. This can cause catastrophic injuries. Such as broken hips, other broken bones, head injuries, etc. Your medical team needs to get to bottom of the problem and treat it. Good luck and God Bless!

      1. Hi margureticatz - and thanks for your post and question - it's a good one! I remember we have had conversations before a few months ago here within the community. We spoke of exacerbations and also feeling tired with COPD. (In one of the conversations, you mentioned (back in June 2022) that you were feeling dizzy and your balance was giving you trouble).
Your question today reveals important enough concerns that I wanted to jump in and underscore the response from our colleague/community member Dminor9 . (Thanks, Dminor!)
The symptoms you have described and shared with us here (feeling dizzy and repeatedly falling over, are important enough to encourage a call to your physician. Any number of different, and often serious, medical conditions can result in dizziness and falling over/loss of balance.
If you have been experiencing these symptoms frequently and they recur and/or have gotten worse, you will want to consider calling your doctor sooner, rather than later.
Please do let us hear back from you. We have a genuine concern for your good health and well-being.
Since your post is from about six hours ago, how are you feeling now?
        Wishing you well,
        Leon (site moderator COPD.net)
