Early stages of COPD

I am in the early year stages of COPD. I've had it for a while but I'm just starting to get more and more out of breath. I can walk but it's hard for me to walk and talk. I can catch my breath pretty quickly at this point though. I just got my nebulizer and I'm waiting for my prescription for the medication. I'm scared because I don't know how quickly it progresses from here. Has medication through nebulizers helped any one?

  1. Hi glozine and welcome! You have certainly come to the right place as this community is all about all things COPD and COPD related. It's understandable that, when one's breathing difficulty increases, it can cause a certain amount of anxiety.
Generally speaking, folks with a COPD diagnosis derive a good deal of benefit when using medication nebulizers. I would hope that will be the case for you as well. Please do check back and let us know how this type of medication system works for you.
You may be aware that COPD affects patients differently. Again, generally speaking, the disease can be an insidious one. To have a better understanding about your own particular level of disease, I would suggest you have a frank discussion with your diagnosing physician. The doctor will be the best health care professional to explain this to you so you know what to expect. For this too, I would ask that you please check back and let us know how this all turns out.
We are here to provide you with support and even some answers to your concerns as they arise.
Please know you are always welcome here in our online community.
    Warm regards,
