Hi I was recently diagnosed with COPD and I am having problems with inhaler side effects particularly stomach and back pain . I was wondering if anyone could advise me on this please.

You need to talk to your doctor, or whomever prescribed the inhaler. What inhaler are you using? Any inhaler with corticosteriod in it (ex. Trelegy, Symbicort, etc. ) needs to have a mouth rinse and gargle after each use. Otherwise you are swallowing the corticosteriods and that can cause gastrointestinal issues. As far as a back pain from an inhaler, I have never heard of that side effect before. Please contact your medical provider. They can help you a lot more than I can for sure. Take care and God Bless!

Hi Melissa. I think the doctor is doing her best, she said all the inhalers have side effects like any drugs. This is the third inhaler she has prescribed and they all have side effects. I have ongoing problems with back and stomach pain and I think all the inhalers make these problems worse. I think I'll have to live with it. Thanks very much for your concern it's very good of you.
