COPD and possible allergy

Went to see the grandchildren as they wanted to show me their new pets. Rabbits. Now they have 2 dogs, 2 cats and now rabbits. Dogs and Cats I have with no problems. BUT out off the blue I very quickly reacted to the rabbits.
Has anyone else reacted to Rabbits by chance please ? Senile Bob.

  1. Hi . I'm glad you got to see the grandchildren, but what a bummer that you reacted to the rabbits. Have they always had rabbits or is this something new? I found this article about rabbit allergies and I thought it might help: https://rabbit.org/care/living-with-rabbit-allergies/. Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. To both of you, THANK YOU for your reply. Had rabbits as a kid, but, then did not have COPD. As an experiment I retried sitting with the boys and the rabbit. NOT a good idea so lesson learnt there.
Oh the joys, but at least I know now. Next challenge?
    Enjoy life.

  3. Bob, are you allergic to anything else, like pollen? It's worth talking to your GP or pulmonologist about it -- you might find that you feel better taking some allergy medication, whether that's over the counter or prescription. If the doctor is okay with it, it could make your visits with the grands more comfortable. Can they come to see you in the meantime? Be well. -Melissa, team member

  4. Hello Melissa and thank you for the reply. Will still see the grandchildren, just will not be sitting with the rabbit on my lap.
Yes, have a few allergies, but usually find a way around the problems. The joys of life. Now, for the first time have contacted Thrush, which turns out to be bloody annoying. Another medication to take, and 🤞get rid of it. First time and bloody uncomfortable. Xx

    1. ,
I had Thrush from trying Trelegy. I got Thrush even though I rinsed and gargled every time I used Trelegy. I got rid of it by simple warm saltwater gargle and rinses. I did that 3 times a day and the Thrush was gone in two days. I do not use Trelegy any longer. My medical team advised me to stop the Trelegy immediately. I don't know if this works for everyone, but it worked for me. Take care and God Bless!

    2. Doing better now, Bob? I had thrush several times as a child from using antibiotics. It is uncomfortable, but I still think I prefer it to having a sinus infection. 😀 Are you brushing your teeth after doing your treatment? Rinsing your mouth is good, but sometimes that extra step can make the difference. Worth a try, maybe. -Melissa, team member
