breathing

does exercising help with breathing or something else

  1. ,
I would say it helps with breathing and it helps with keeping your body moving and blood flowing. I exercise daily. It helps strengthen the muscles of your lungs, which helps breathing. For me, it also helps clear mucus from my lungs. It helps blood flow, which helps keep oxygen flowing to your organs and muscles. The more you exercise, the easier it becomes and the better your breathing. Hope this helps answer your question. Take Care and God Bless.

    1. Hi bogangles, and thanks for your post and question - it's a good one! I see our fellow community member, , has already provided an answer and further explanation for you. I agree with all that he has said, too. From his own experience, this works quite well for him. From my clinical experience, taking care of patients for many years, exercising and staying active is a very good way to help to manage this disease successfully.
I thought you might be interested in reading more about COPD and exercising. Towards that end, and for your convenience, here is a link to several articles we have published (right here on COPD.net), which speak to this important concern: https://copd.net/search?s=exercise%20. I do hope this provides you with some additional insight going forward.
      All the best,
