Breathing concentrators

I have used many concentrators but, never heard of this one. It sounds TOO good. I would love to know if anyone has heard of it or uses it. Thank you for your input.

Portable Oxygen Concentrator

  1. Hi Joan. I'm not familiar with this particular concentrator, but I did some light research and it seems to be a legimate brand. The concentrator itself gets mixed reviews. Some people love it and others think it's too heavy. There are also a few complaints about sudden shutdowns and battery life. I don't know how that compares to other portable concentrators though.
Here is an article from the National Council on Aging that ranks the best portable concentrators and offers some guidelines for choosing one: https://www.ncoa.org/product-resources/oxygen/best-portable-oxygen-concentrators/.
I hope this helps and that others chime in with their own experiences and insights.
Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

  3. This was the first POC (Portable Oxygen Concentrator) that I bought back in 2018. I chose it as it can do both pulse for longer life and mobility; while still being able to do up to 3 lpm on continuous. So plugged in, I have a regular unit with no paying a rental each month. And the ability to take on a plane with 2 batteries for a good 8 hours of travel with no worries.

That machine literally just stopped working a few months ago, and this is right after I finally bought 2 new batteries for it. From January until just last month, I had been looking for a replacement so I can still have it as an option in my choices especially since I have the 2 new batteries, it is FAA certified, fits under the plane seat in front of you, can be a continuous unit like at home so you can also run a CPAP or BPAP, or in my case a VPAP machine on it. I found a used one about 100 miles away for $500 and bought it. It was only a year or so old so I expect a good long service out it also.

Yes, it is heavy, but it rolls. For travel, I like it. For normal every day though, I choose one of my POC's with my main choice being my Inogen G5. I have a spare Rhythm unit so when I go to Mexico or anywhere actually, I have a spare in case things don't work. I have had my machines not want to work properly in Mexico and I believe it has to do with the quality of the heated air, the various POC machines can't get up to speed in the air purity.

But if you want a great machine, I would get the Oxlife Independence if it can fit your needs. I also have relatives 100 miles away and I put this one in the back seat with a cannula from the machine to me in the front passenger seat. This way I get continuous lpm if I choose. I started doing this when I had the sieves in my G5 go out while away and 100 miles from home with no spare machine. No air, wife speeding to get home, last tine we do that. We now carry a spare no matter what. 😀

Your milage may vary, but I am pleased with the 8 year life my first one gave, and hope to get this used one a good 5 years from it.

BTW, I am new here, and signed up so I could give you a real user experience.

    1. Welcome to the community and thanks for the feedback and insight! I'm sure Joan will appreciate it. It sounds like you've been diagnosed for a while. How are you doing overall? Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
