Airport disaster

Traveling from PBI TO JFK. When we arrived at JFK I couldn’t believe the walk to the exit to be picked up. The plane parked at the end of the airport. I lost my breath after a few moments. They had areas where you could jump on a walking escalator. It seemed like miles. By the time I reached the third walking escalator I almost couldn’t breath at all. An angel stopped with one of the mobile rides and asked me if I needed help. Grateful I got on and he drove a long way to the exit. It seems to me my COPD has gotten so much worse immediately.

Hi <inline-mention username="beachlife7" user-id="2406219"/>, and thanks for your post. Living in New York, I know JFK International Airport quite well. It is quite a large complex with many terminals and seemingly miles of corridors to maneuver. I know exactly how you felt. Thank goodness you were able to get through it all - with moving walkways and an 'angel' with an electric cart who came to rescue you! I'm sorry to hear you feel your condition has gotten worse so quickly. Do you feel this was just a manifestation of the experience you had at the airport? Now, that you have shared this story - does the COPD still seem to have gotten worse or, are you feeling the way you always have? What do you think? Leon it has gotten worse. I started using a Nebulizer. It seems to help for awhile, but it scares me. A few months ago I had a breathing test at my pulmonologist there were no issues . Now it is so obvious that it is an issue.

 <inline-mention username="beachlife7" user-id="2406219"/> Hi again, beachlife7 - thanks for continuing the conversation here. For folks with COPD, medication nebulizer treatments can be a fairly common form of therapy. I'm glad to hear it does help you, if only for a while, as you said. However, if you are frightened of it, that can pose an issue for you taking the medication as prescribed. I can assure you, from many years experience administering this type of therapy to patients, there is nothing to be frightened about. If there is something I can do or say to put your mind at ease, please let me know. Based on what you are sharing here, it may be time to be reassessed by the doctor - if your condition has changed, adjustments may be able to be made to your medication regimen to help you to feel more comfortable.
