"Bad news. The Medicare Supplement Rx plan we've had for years just notified us they are no longer offering their drug plan as of the end of December 2022. With COPD I don't know if I can be accepted by another Medicare prescription plan. They don't need to take you with pre-existing health conditions. I wonder if the Inflation Reduction Act, signed by Biden-Harris, is causing some fear on the part of insurance companies. "
Hi @twovillages - I am sorry to hear this and wonder how you plant to manage your drug plan moving forward. I know the registration period is currently in place. Are you planning to shop around to see which plan will work for you? Perhaps others team members and community members in the community, with more extensive knowledge about this, will chime in and share their experiences with us.
Wishing you well,

"Fairly good, but puzzled about a recent 6-minute walk test. I walked 440 m, and it went from 94 to 89 in the 6 minutes. It went right up to 95 afterwards. My doctor says I'm right on the cusp of needing 24 oxygen. I use it at night. Not bad for somebody with 50% lung function."
Hi again, two villages - nice to see you posting here again. I know we, at COPD.net have had conversations with you in the recent past, and it's always good to continue these interactions. For ease of reference, here is a link to some of our previous conversations: https://copd.net/members/twovillages/.
We appreciate your latest post (above), and your sharing the results of the 6-minute walk test. It sounds like your physician is evaluating you for needing oxygen (just at night, as you now have), or for longer periods of time. I imagine being 'on the cusp', means the doctor will probably test you again, to see if your condition has remained stable or not.
I agree with you - not bad at all, twovillages. Keep up the good work!
All the best,

"I'm determined to enjoy the last of the summer weather. I should be staying indoors, but need to garden, and spend some time on the water. Humidity hasn't been really below 70, and air quality seems to get into the moderate, or above, level at least a couple times a week. I just had to start another five day dosing of 20 mg prednisone. Looking forward to cooler weather, and fewer house guests. "
Hi again, twovillages - nice to 'see' you here again. I recall our conversations from some time ago (here is a link to those conversations, for reference), so it's especially good to see you posting once again.
It's understandable to want to get out and enjoy these final days of summertime - as August draws to a very quick close. Being in one's garden and getting in to the water can certainly go a long way towards lifting one's spirits - so I admire you for making the effort to do what you want to do - keep up the good work!
We're so glad to have you as an active member of our online community. Please know you are always welcome here.
All the best,
