"I haven’t been here in a while. I have copd, emphysema, asthma overlap, heart issue’s peripheral artery disease and so on. But the worst I’ve went thru is breast cancer. Had a mastectomy, and still going thru chemo and the worst is shortness of breath. I haven’t been that bad going thru symptoms of copd. So if it gets that bad I’ve been in denial for years and that really scares me. In cancer several of the drugs I’m taking have side effects of shortness of breath and it’s really bad. "

. My heart goes out to you. I am glad your COPD hasn't interfered with your breast cancer treatment, as far as you know. You are not alone. We have lots of members here who have dealt with COPD and cancer at the same time. So, please reach out to the community if you are struggling or you have an questions. When in doubt about chemo side effects versus COPD, it's probably best to call your pulmonologist and ask for an appointment. If your shortness of breath is caused by worsening COPD or a flare, there might be something that can help. How much longer will you be on chemo? Keep checking in, if you don't mind.
