Tired

I feel like I am going crazy most t II mes I feel like I am the only one in the world going thru this.I no I am not but it gets to me bad. I have no energy to do anything I wake up set up to edge of bed and I done I can breath I can barley get my inhaler. I have started peeing in a jug cause going the 10 steps to the bathroom is very scary sumtimes. Just to walk to the fridge I normally stop 2 times. Now I live in a small trailer. To get to fridge its 30 steps. I am to the point of giving up. I don't bath like did I don't wash my clothes or help with any house hold chores. I try like today I WA going to vacuum well I made it about 4 or 5 feet started getting hot I was done. Tried to start back a lil later barely got the vac. On i was out of breath and getting hot. Done for. What is it with getting hot it happen fast to I mean out of no where I am hot and I better set down then. The feeling I get is the worst. And then I got to pee right then and I mean right then. So I keep a jug handy. I am 56 yrs this is just no way to live or no way to die I don't understand slot of things and suffering is one of them. My gf who I live with has taken good care of me she has been there thru everything that's happened here at the house if not for her and her son I don't no what I would have done.but she is tired if taking care of me she thinks I can just get up and push thru it. I tried to tell her I can't but things get bad pretty quick. I tried to tell her I don't need to get up set but we end up in a big fuss and I don't have the breath to fuss. Not to mention I lose my voice all the t II me I get 2 words out ten my mouth move but nothing comes out sum tines its like that for days. I get so mad but can say anything I try and ppl just look at me crazy like. I guess I just want to no I ant the only one going thru these things? Am I

  1. Hi . You are definitely not alone and I hope others chime in here to let you know that.
COPD can be so hard. How long has it been since you last saw your pulmonologist? If you haven't had an appointment in a while, it might be wise to request one. Maybe your doctor can prescribe pulmonary rehab to help improve your cardiovascular functioning and give you more energy. You might also want to ask for bloodwork to be sure there are not other issues depleting your energy, like nutritional deficenies, hormone imbalances, infections or autoimmune diseases. It's easy to blame everything on COPD, but it's always possible something else is contributing to your weakness and exhaustion.
To help ease the stress on your girlfriend and her son, you can also ask for a referral to home health care. They can evaluate your home and order equipment that will help you get around better. They can also help with things like showering and dressing. It's usually covered by insurance. I know it's frustrating to need that kind of help at your age, but if you approach your issues from all these different directions, you might find that you start feeling better and that you become more energetic over time.

  2. Ty for replying I no I am not alone a few more things I am on oxygen 24/7. I went for a lung test ended up in the er my lungs are so weak I couldn't do the test we started the spectrometer test and that's as far as we got. My oxygen level dropped the lady gave me a treatment tried once more 02 dropped and she called the er to come get me. Never got no test done or anything. I had just got out of hospital 2 day before that so in less than a week I went to er got put in hospital got out and back to er thankfully they didn't keep the 2nd trip. I got really upset cause I remember my doc saying can't get you better meds with out the rest I need the results first. Well I didn't get no test results and I blew the Dr app off. I no that was bad idea and I do regret it now cause I have suffered alot in the last few months and things have only got worse. I am tryn to get my self going in the right direction agsin. But it seems like the forces to be are against me not only are things not good with me and my gf but where we live there is like 6 trailers and they just sold the place to a big time company and all 6 house holds got 2 months to get out. So they can break ground on a big subdvision. I don't drive or have a car so now I got to move to. Things just keep getting better by the min. Anyways I don't have the breath energy or the will or want. I apologize for unloading like this but I got to get out of me. Thank you so much I no there are far worse ppl out there than me I Do not mean to sound like poor poor pitiful me I just need to no or here I am not the only one. I no this just needed a lil resureance I guess th

    1. Hi . No apologies necessary! That's what we're here for -- to offer support and a safe place to vent. Moving when you are in such a weak state sounds exhausting. I know you have your girlfriend and her son to help, but still. Do you own the trailer or will you lose that, too?
I'm guessing the thought of even making a phone call exhausts you, but I hope you'll find the energy to call your doctor's office and schedule that appointment anyway. It's possible that you don't have to suffer like this. You might find that small improvements in your physical condition make a significant difference in your mental health. It's worth a try.
Keep us posted about the pending move and your efforts to see a doctor, if you don't mind. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
