I have copd and asthma. I am about to start treatment with Nucala. I'm quite leery about it, I guess because it's a monthly injection and I've dealt with that before. I'm desperate to hear from other people who are currently on it.

Hi mzzbehavin, and thanks for your post. You've certainly come to the right place. I am hopeful others in the community will chime in and share their own personal experiences with this treatment (Nucala).
Have you had an opportunity to discuss your genuine concerns with your prescribing physician. Your doctor should be made aware of your apprehension when it comes to starting this therapy.
You mentioned that you have had other experience(s) with monthly injections. You will certainly want to mention this to your physician as well.
We do have some material published which focuses on Nucala. It is available on our (free) sister site, asthma.net. For your convenience, here is a link to that article: https://asthma.net/treatment/nucala.
What do you think?

Yes, I have discussed all this with my doctor. I've never been on a regimen of injections never mind self injection. It just seems like a big step. I am committed to try it though because I can't go on like this. The only thing that relieves my breathing issues and makes me feel like a normal human being is prednisone and I can't keep taking that. I would really like to connect with other people on Nucala, to compare reactions, etc. This seems like a great group.

I also have COPD & was on Nucala a couple of years, then it seemed to quit working.
Haven’t found good pulmonologist since.

Hi Tigger, and thanks for joining in the conversation. May I ask, what happened to the pulmonologist? Is there a reason you're looking for another?

I hear you about all the housework. Breaking it down into small chunks is probably best -- you might not get ahead, but even the small tasks are helpful and will give you a boost. Take your time with all of it, especially the paint -- does it affect your breathing?
We are always here for you! -Melissa, copd.net team

Update, I do understand that it takes 3 months to reach max potential. and Breathing will be different, so this is new to me.
