I don't usually cough with mu copd, but I've had a cold and now have had a chesty cough for over two weeks (not infected). I wonder if it's worth taking a course of oral steroids?
, I think that would be a question for your doctor. I can only speak to my own experience. One question I have is, how do you know you do not have an infection? Any time I have a bad chesty cough, my doctor wants a sputum sample for testing. I usually am put on Prednisone and an antibiotic to avoid a pneumonia infection. You should contact your medical team to seek their advice and follow up treatment. Take care and God Bless!

Thank you so much. I just wondered what members thought. Sputum is clear, and theres lots of horrid coughs amd colds around (London - UK). That's why I thought no infection (my doctor wouldn't send a sputum test off). I have antibiotics and pred just in case. I'll see how the next few days go. Thanks again.

Just a reminder, we are here to help however we can but if you think it is something the doctor might want to look at, it is definitely worth contacting them just in case. Just keep that in mind and if there's anyting else we can do, let us know! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

Yes, of course. It's just nice that the copd community is out there. Al
