Quartz/Pelonis style heaters

Are these safe in a room as long as they kept as far away from oxygen as possible? We have always used natural gas. This will be our first winter with oxygen in the house and I am trying to think ahead.

Quartz heaters are Infared heaters. They do not require or need oxygen to function. From what I read; they are completely safe to use around oxygen. Of course, always err on the side of caution when using any space heater. If you google Quartz Space Heater, you can find a ton of information about their use and safety.

    1. Hi THH, and thanks for your post. I see our community member, , has provided a practical and reasonable response (thanks, Dminor!)
The concern when using oxygen around electrical equipment is for 'sparking'. Although oxygen does not burn itself, it does support combustion. If the quartz heater is not at risk for throwing off sparks, you should be okay.
As Dminor has suggested, there is a wealth of information on the internet that focuses on these types of quartz heaters. You may want to read more about them before you make your decision. You also may want to reach out to the manufacturer of the heater and see what they have to say.
You also may gain some additional insight from this article, published right here on COPD.net, which addresses safety tips for using oxygen at home: https://copd.net/living/dos-donts-supplemental-oxygen
      What do you think?
