Olympus Spiration valve system

Does anyone have experience/information about the Olympus Spiration valve system process?

  1. Hi kptmrgn and thanks for your post and your question - it's a good one! As best as I can tell, the Olympus Spiration Valve System is an alternate brand used for the endobronchial valve procedure, a treatment for COPD. We actually have a wealth of material, published right here on COPD.net, that I thought might be of interest to you. For your convenience, here is a link to that material: https://copd.net/search?s=endobronchial%20valve%20procedure.
Are you presently being evaluated for this procedure?
    Wishing you well,
    Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

    1. Hi. Great question. I believe the Olympus Spiration Valve is a brand name for endobronchial valve system (https://copd.net/clinical/endobronchial-valve-system). Another brand is Zephyr. I do know there are a few patients who have had that procedure at my hospital system with good results. For more information you can check out the link above. I also know that other community members have had this procedure. It will be neat to hear what they have to say. John. copd.net community moderator.

      1. Thanks for the response and hopeful wishes. This will be for my wife, and we are fortunate to have a supportive and enthusiastic pulmonologist who seems very excited about the procedure.
