generic heart disease with copd

I have copd iv just started home oxygen I'm slowly getting use to it I think , my Dr recently informed me that I also have generic heart disease and that its often diagnosed with copd so I should take frudimide (fluid tablet ) to try an stop feet edema and excess fluid on lungs does anyone have any info on this it would be greatly appreciated thanks .
