How To Support Someone With COPD

What are ways you could be better supported while having COPD?

  1. For myself, it would be so helpful to have someone to come in to change bedding, dust, do floors and help organize. Maybe one room every couple of weeks. When I do these tasks, I’m always down for a couple of days after. Even wearing a mask, I cough more and there is so much pain in my back as well. I don’t feel like I ever get anything done.
    How about you? Please share!
    Janet (Team)

    1. I feel exactly the same. Needing help with dusting , vacuuming and sweeping and mopping.

    2. that's a huge struggle for me as well. I have two hours a week through Medicare for someone to help me, but the company can't find someone, even after two years. It's impossible for me to keep up with cleaning.

  2. Me, too.

    1. Knowing the actual results of test.

      1. Sending good thoughts and support to you and your wife in this time of recovery. Remember to take care of yourself too, doc -- your health is just as important! We're here for you. -Melissa, team member

      2. . Thank you Melissa, I do appreciate your support.

    2. Breathing

      1. My doctor keep giving me new medication, to the point I'm tired now because no body is answering my questions. I asked what stage of copd do I have, I'm still waiting for an answer.
        Until next time take care.

      2. Hi . If you feel like your doctor isn't listening to you, I hope you consider finding someone new. You need and deserve an empathetic doctor who responds to your needs. Always remember you pay for those services even if your insurance or Medicare covers the appointments. I hope you get some answers at your next appointment. It's good hearing from you. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)
