  1. hello. We aren’t able to diagnose, your doctor will be the best one to diagnose you. Here, after testings, and depending on the test, they frequently have someone who interprets the test, then provides the diagnosis.
Are you still smoking? If so, this would be a good time to quit. It’s so important for your overall health.
Exercise and diet too. Do you need to gain weight or lose weight? Do discuss with your doctor the type of exercise he/she would recommend. Write down any other questions that you may have for your doctor.
Please let us know what you find out. Know that we are here for you as well.

    1. I was recently, and FINALLY, approved for disability. Part of what makes that determination possible are multiple lung function tests over a span of time. I questioned my pulmonologist about the last one, and asked him how badly I failed. He told me that there is no pass or fail mode. It is simply a measure of ability and establishing a benchmark for decline or improvement comparison.

      1. Thank you for your post here You have come to the right place, as we are all about everything COPD. As Janet noted above, we cannot diagnose or offer medical advice, for your own protection. However, I do have an article about PFT results and how to interpret them that you may find helpful. I will post a link to it here (https://copd.net/clinical/what-is-pulmonary-function-testing). I think you will find it helpful. And, as Janet noted, this may be a great discussion to have with your doctor, who knows you best. Your doctor can let you know if you have COPD. And, if you do not, how you can prevent this from happening (https://copd.net/living/why-quitting-smoking-can-prolong-life). What do you think? Does this help? John. community moderator.
