Chronic Bronchitis and Lung Fungal infections

I had RheOx in a clinical trial and it was gone for over 3 years. Then moved out of metro NYC to SC and it’s came back within 9 months. Environment is worse for COPD and perhaps Chronic Bronchitus. (CB)

  1. And now I want pulmo to do sputum test to check for penicillium fungus since I had it several times back north.

    1. Hi . I'm glad RheOx proved effective for you. Hopefully, it's getting closer to FDA approval. Do you have a new pulmonologist in South Carolina? That sounds like a wise idea to get tested. I hope your doctor moves forward with it. Keep us posted, if you don't mind. I'll be thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. Hi Lori- I do have a pulmonologist down here but I had the most amazing one back north. A doctor who not only listened but made suggestions, looked at the info I brought here and together we made a plan. She’s the one who sent me to Temple for the RheOx.
After several calls to SC pulmo and me insisting on the sputum test I got a positive answer to get it done. But after it’s done I’m actually looking for another pulmo. Unfortunately I’m afraid none of them will measure up to my amazing Dr I had.

I understand RheOx is approved in Europe and am thinking I may fly there to get it redone if that’s possible.

In the meantime Brinsupri has been used off label for COPD but will Medicare cover it? Doubtful.

    Thanks Lori

    1. I'm glad you finally got your doctor to order the test. Let us know what the results are, if you don't mind. I hope you find a new doctor soon who inspires confidence in you. It's so hard to leave a good doctor behind. Great doctors--the truly great ones--are heard to find.
Given that you have already used RheOx and that it has been successful for you, I understand why you would fly to Europe for it. If you decide to go that route, I hope everything falls into place for you. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
