Anxiety.

Just talked to my doctor about the issue of anxiety and panic. I have also been very independent, nothing I couldn't handle. COPD has changed who I am. Now I do not go to the store or anywhere else for that matter. My mind races, what if the car breaks down? What if I can't breathe? What if I fall? My home is my safe place. The shower is also a psychological problem. Once in the shower nothing feels better but getting there is the challenge. It helps to know I'm not the only one.

  1. Hi . You are definitely not alone. I just responded to someone else who is experience the same issues. Did your doctor offer any help? You might be eligible for home health care. They can help with showers even if it is just a matter of getting you into the shower. Visits are usually covered by insurance with a referral from a doctor. You might also benefit from therapy or medication for your anxiety. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
