Antibiotics

Been really struggling with my copd lately.my dr has decided to put me on long term antibiotics.as any body heard of this.

  1. yes. I have, Long-term antibiotics have been shown to reduce inflammation to help open airways and keep them open long term. They also can help prevent infections from forming inside your lungs that may trigger flare-ups. I think I will refer you to a post at the Mayo Clinic here (https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-q-and-a-for-some-with-copd-long-term-use-of-antibiotics-may-reduce-exacerbations/). I think you will find that article helpful. After reading it, please let me know what you think. Wishing you all the best. John. community moderator.
