Living on Oxygen

I am on 2 Lpm. I rent a Concentrator which doesn’t cost very much after insurance.
I have method of how I have learned to live using oxygen. It starts out with a 7’ hose connected to the concentrator and a swivel connector connected to a kink resistant 25’ hose connected by another swivel connector connected to another 25’ kink resistant hose with a swivel connector connected to a 4’ hose with a Salter Lab soft nasal cannula.
The reason for using several sections of tubing with swivel connecters is to keep the tubing from kinking.
I can get from my bedroom where the concentrator is located to the other end of my house which is 50’.
I start each day after I get ready by looping the tubing on one arm until I have it all wound up and put a door stop on my door to keep it open. Then I hook the tubing on a plastic Command hook that I have attached to my bedroom door near the handle. I then wrap the tubing around the door knob to keep it secure enough to get it hooked to the next hook. I have a total of 5 hooks for the tubing until I am in the kitchen. That is where I drop the rest of the tubing onto the floor and go about my day.
I can get to my kitchen, office, the front room, front door, the other bedrooms,, and laundry room.
If I need to go outside, I take off my cannula that’s hooked to the concentrator and put on my portable Inogen G3 to tend to my gardens. I also drive to my doctor appointments and get my the groceries. When I take my shower, I have placed Command Hooks on the top of my shower stall and then drape the cannula over it the top so I can shower with oxygen. Command Hooks to Secure the Oxygen Tubing

  1. How clever, ! Thanks for sharing what helps. The image illustrates your strategy well, too. Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)
