Oxygen sensitive

I have not seen another post on here that mentions becoming a retainer of oxygen . I find this very worrying as I had a hospital stay overnight and this is when I was told the above . It was actually 6 yrs ago .

  1. Hi . I am not familiar with excessive oxygen retention, but I hope others in the community will chime in with their experiences. Are you on a treatment plan for it? Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. No ,I am no plan for my oxygen retainer problem . Thank you

      1. My husband has COPD and emphysema and a few months ago he had respiratory failure amongst few other things and CO2 retaining was one he was at 100 percent. They almost had to intubate him a few times lucky the bi pap machine did its job and blew off the carbon dioxide. He has been on oxygen for over 7 years we knew nothing about this no one explained being above 96 percent was too much bc with emphysema you can't expell CO2 like people with out so it builds up in the bloodstream. Now he has a bi pap machine for home and was told to wear it at night to keep from happening and also to keep his oxygen between the 88-92 percent oxygen saturation. Which means I have to titrate his oxygen to meet those levels . He use to be at 6 lpm of oxygen now he is on 2.5-3 big time difference. Good luck it's all a very a balancing act .
