If you are put on oxygen does it help for taking a walk?
What other differences does it make to your COPD?
Thanks

Hi Bree, and thanks for your post - you've posed an excellent question.
Let me see if I can provide you with a reply.
You probably are aware that COPD affects all patients differently. As well, treatment for this condition can vary considerably among people who have a COPD diagnosis.
Generally speaking, a patient with COPD (depending on their specific condition), may benefit from using supplemental oxygen therapy. Of course, the oxygen must be prescribed by one's own physician.
We actually have a wealth of material, published right here on COPD.net, which focuses on the use of oxygen therapy and COPD which I thought might be of interest to you. For your convenience, here is a link to one of the articles for your review: https://copd.net/living/oxygen-levels-supplemental.
I do hope you find it to be helpful in a practical way.

Thanks again Leon, you have good ideas l am going to try. I am also underweight, so l am trying to keep as much weight as I can on. That's why I could eat a lot more than small portions.

I have trouble when I eat. I quit smoking 5yrs. ago. I now have a good appetite. I have lots of energy before I eat. As soon as I eat(small) I lose my energy. So because of that I put off eating, which isn't healthy. Any suggestions?

Amykt, thanks for all your answers. I have been trying to get my blood tested for a while now, but because I am on oxygen 24hrs a day, it's hard for me to wait in line for a long time. Tried on line, not tech savvy, but gave me one time to go, & when I went was given a different time. I will keep trying to get it tested. Thanks again for all your help. From buddy Foxy.
