My journey

I was diagnosed with COPD in the spring of this year. I have multiple issues such as a hiatal hernia, peripheral artery disease, primary biliary cholongitis, and Barrett's esophagus . I had a hip replacement that the doctor broke my femur which led to two revision surgeries. I am in good shape otherwise. I have crippling arthritis in my shoulder but I feel blessed each day to get to live and see my family and grandkids grow up. I like to keep a positive upbeat attitude. It really changes things when I do.

  1. Funny story - I also have bad arthritis in my shoulders and other places and have had both my hips replaced. They also screwed up one of my hips and basically the side of one of my legs is numb forever now! In the same way, though, I feel blessed as I am still upright and able to do things that I want to some of the time, if not all. As for the esophagus stuff, some of our members have some suggestions they use that you can check out here: https://copd.net/living/preventing-choking Above all just remember, you are not alone! Keep on keepin' on, DPM

    1. Wow! Thanks for your story so much like mine. Life is good 😊
