Is there any validity to a claim that Dry Salt Therapy (halotherapy) relieves COPD symptoms?

Someone is telling me that dry salt therapy "...reaches the lower respiratory system and works as a bronchial toothbrush for the airways?" While I am skeptical of such claims, especially when not accompanied by scientific research, I still would like to pursue additional comments and/or information.

  1. Hi John2746, and thanks so much for your post in the Q & A section. We do have material published on this very topic here on our COPD.net website. I thought you might gain some additional insight from this article on that very topic: https://copd.net/answers/himalayan-salt-lamps/.

In addition, one of our team members wrote an article focusing on her experiences in a salt cave. It was published on our sister site, asthma.net. For your convenience, here is the link to that article: https://asthma.net/living/visiting-a-salt-cave-to-improve-my-asthma/.

I do hope you find both article to be helpful for your concerns.

    Wishing you well,

    1. I may have inadvertently clicked on a link saying that I didn't want to receive any notifications of a response to my inquiry. Is there a way to reverse my error?
