Hi again, Oscar C, and thanks for this very timely question. If you're talking about the safety of visiting one's grandchildren during this challenging period of time (with the Coronavirus outbreak), I would suggest you stay current with all the public health announcements, which are trying to address everyone's concerns. You will be able to make the best decision you can for yourself and your family, by staying abreast of all the news and public health reports and announcements.
What do you think?

Hi Leon,
The decision whether or not to go to Kansas City was made for me 😉. I'm keeping abreast of the whole virus situation and expect that at best we'll go to see the grand kids in the summer, if the virus naps during the heat and humidity.
Stay safe.

Hi Leon,
I am torn. My grandchildren are in the Kansas City area and we live in FL so only see them about twice a year. Visiting them means getting spending 90 minutes in an airport, coming and going and spending an additional 3 hours on an airplane each way. Right now, the prudent man stays home. We're planning to visit in April, so I'll wait a few weeks to make a final decision.

Hi Melaniem,
We're holding up pretty well. Needless to say, the trip to Kansas City got cancelled and we don't know when we'll get out there next. Maybe sometime during the summer if the virus takes a hike in the summer heat.
Stay safe.

Hi again, Oscar C - good to hear back from you with this update. I can see that your planning for April (from 2 months ago in your initial post, above), has been made for you. The Coronavirus is presenting challenges all across the country and the world!
If we get a respite from the virus this summer, perhaps the traveling concerns and restrictions will lighten up and enable you to make plans to visit your grandchildren at that time. It is so difficult to plan in the current environment. I know all of us are trying to live our lives and stay safe at the same time. It does take some patience and understanding.
Hang in there!
Warmly,

Glad to hear it, Oscar - being patient and staying safe is the 'order of the day', nowadays. It's what we're doing, too.
Wishing you continued good health,
