Update - Bronchoscopy Results

I received my results from my bronchoscopy. Doctor said there are no signs of cancer. He did say that I do have Organizing Pneumonia (BOOP) again. I have to take a course of prednisone again

  1. Hi again, PK2018, and thanks so much for following up here and bringing us up-to-date on the results of your bronchoscopy. I was hoping you would check back with us after you let us know this was scheduled for 12/8/2020 (for ease of reference, that conversation is here: https://copd.net/q-and-a/bronchoscopy/#comment-13653).

That is just wonderful news about having cancer 'ruled out' based on the results. You must be so relieved!!

Even with the new diagnosis of Bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOPS), you are already being treated. How long will you be taking the prednisone? How are you feeling now?

    All the best,

    1. They are starting me off on 60mg for 3 weeks. Then I go see my Doctor and see if we can start to step it down. She also told me I might have to be on a maintenance of prednisone so I do not have to go through this again. I am feeling great
      Thanks for asking

  2. Hi again, PK2018, and thanks for your latest reply, above, and explanation. It sounds like the medical team is treating the BOOPS 'head-on'. As you said, by starting off with this dose initially, you will then be assessed to try to 'taper down' the steroid treatment with future assessment as you progress through this.

It's reassuring for us to hear you are 'feeling great' - you must feel good being able to say that!!

Keep up the good work PK2018, and please continue to keep us apprised of your progress moving forward.

    Warm regards,
