Results of a CT scan

Hi all. Hope everything is as good as possible for all. As you know I was having some SOB....My pulmonologist changed my meds to Breztri and 3mg of Albuterol to be used in a nebulizer every 6 hours. Also requested that I have my yearly CT scan which I did last week. Saw my pulmonologist on Monday of this week. CT shows a 3.5 mm mass in my lung. He wants a PET scan now which is scheduled for next Wed 1/19/2022. I am praying it is not cancer and just an infection of some sort. If no cancer then the next step is a biopsy to find out what exactly it is. To say I am scared is an understatement at best. I feel good!!! Still walking a mile per day...NOT on oxygen and I eat well. They say all of that are things I have going for me since my COPD /EMPHESYMA was at a moderate level in 2019. I am praying every chance I get and sleep is escaping me I have to say. My husband is my rock and we are taking one step at a time.

  1. Hi Alwaystomorrow - I hear you!! It's certainly understandable for you to feel the way you are feeling now - this is a lot to absorb!
If possible, go one step-at-time! Take each new event as it comes up and, moving forward, you will manage and deal with each new development.
I say this from my own personal experience! Whatever comes your way - there will be a treatment or medicine or therapy. I have found they are all not necessarily easy or even pleasant, but, they are treatments and I, pray too, to manage this effectively.
My family is also my support system - I would not be able to do this without them!!
I will wish you 'good luck!' with your upcoming diagnostic PET scan this coming Wednesday January 19.
We are with you - you can count on us for support!!!
Please do check back and keep us apprised of your progress!
    Warm regards,

    1. , sending you all the good thoughts and positivity for your scan next week! As Leon said, and I know it is hard, try to take it one thing at a time. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. All the best, Sam S. (COPD.net, team member).

      1. Thank you

    2. Thank you so very much

      1. I had a nodule on my lungs which my pulmonologist is tracking. He was worried when he first noted it (and so was I) but then months later it hadn't grown and it wasn't malignant. Apparently nodules are not uncommon. He still CT's mine every 6 months but no change and no biopsy or further study on it. Chances are it's benign so don't worry in advance! 1. I Love that quote. Very fitting for this community, and for all of us actually. Glad to hear that your nodule was not malignant. That has to give you quite a bit of relief. Thank you for posting. Wishing you all the best. John. copd.net community moderator.

        2. Thank you so much for your support. So glad to hear yours was benign!!!
