Scattered Pulmonary Nodules & COPD

Hi. Just wanting to know if SPN & COPD the same? Are they linked? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  1. ,
Lung nodules and COPD are not mutually exclusive. You can have one without the other. You can have nodules without COPD, and you can have COPD without nodules. Nodules are spots on the lungs that can have several causes. They can be cancerous, but usually are not. Your doctor would have another CT scan done to see if it has grown or is shrinking. Sometimes biopsies are taken. Consult your healthcare provider for more exact information on your specific nodules. You can google lung nodules and get a lot of information on the internet. Take care.
