Pain in stomach when out of breath

Hi my husband has chronic COPD, when he,s having breathing problems he gets pains in his stomach and he,s getting quite anxious about it, does this happen to anyone else and why it is happening?
Thank you
Marie

  1. Hi CM05797 (Marie), and welcome! I see you joined our community earlier today (this morning), and we are glad to have you here.
You may be aware we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), but your concern certainly warrants a reply.
Stomach pains/cramps can be caused by any number of medical conditions. It the pains continue, persist or get worse, you may want to reach out for your husband's physician. The doctor will be able to provide an assessment and determine what, if anything is responsible for the discomfort your husband is feeling. This may help to ease 'hubbby's anxiety somewhat. It can be a challenge experiencing symptoms and not knowing the etiology or how to treat those symptoms.
I am also hopeful others in the community will see your inquiry and respond by sharing their own personal experiences with you.
    What do you think?

    1. Hi Leon, thank you for your quick response, I have taken on board your advice, he has also been diagnosed with diverticulitis so looking at these pains he is having could be being made worse with the diverticulitis as he says they feel different to what he normally has. I think a talk to GP is the next step. Thank you so much for your kindness.
      Marie

      1. Hi again, CM05797 (Marie), and thanks for your response and further explanation. I like your idea of reaching out to the general practitioner. Generally speaking, folks with a diagnosis of diverticulitis (and COPD), can cause some level of discomfort in the abdominal area. It will be good to seek out the doctor's opinion and suggested remedy.
I will wish you both 'good luck!', and ask that you check back and let us know how this turns out for your husband (and you!).
        Warm regards,
        Leon (site moderator COPD.net)

    2. Hi it’s Winso I’ve seen quite a lot of different inhalers online has anyone purchased any of them was wondering if they’d help me

      1. that's a great question! If you'd like you can start a forum on this here: COPD.net/forums where our members can see and respond to your question with their own experience. In the meantime though here are some articles you may find interesting: https://copd.net/clinical/inhalers-bronchodilators and https://copd.net/clinical/combination-inhalers. All the best, Sam S. (COPD.net, team member).

      2. Hi Winzo, and thanks for your post - as my colleague, , said - it's a great question. Besides her response to you, in which she included links to several excellent and related articles, I did want to ask if you were being followed by a physician? Have you been diagnosed with COPD? Is there anything further you are able to share with the community at this time?
If we can assist you in any way, please let me or any other moderator / team member know.
        Wishing you well,
        Leon (site moderator COPD.net)
