Pain

The more I learn about COPD the more upset I get. Recently I have been experiencing pain in my ribs but more surprising to me is the constant pain in my upper back and shoulders. It feels like I strained my back doing too much at the gym.

I have also been having sore eyes and loss of vision. It is very difficult to read which is very upsetting as I am an avid reader.

Rib and upper back pain seem to be pretty normal for COPD sufferers. I have learned to live with it. There
are some things you can do to ease that pain. Heating pads or warm towels several times a day help. Soak
in warm water with Epsom salt. Exercise your lungs to make the muscles stronger. Take Tylenol to ease the
pain. Talk to your doctor about the pain and ask for ways to help ease the pain. Your eyesight is a different
matter. I would suggest seeing an eye doctor. While severe COPD can cause vision problems over time, I
think it is not a common thing. There might be something else going on there. Please get checked out by
a medical staff. Take care and God Bless.

I concur with all he has said. He shares from his own personal experience, for which we are grateful.
I also have something to contribute. As Dminor mentioned, there are various types of pain that often times may be associated with this
disease (COPD). I thought you might gain some additional insight from several articles (which are published right here on COPD.net),
which speak to this very issue. For your convenience, here is a link to those articles: https://copd.net/search?s=rib%20back%20pain
