Has anyone felt intense bowel pain, as if they were twisted?

Have COPD sufferers felt like their bowels are twisted vertically down the center of your abdomen? I have worked on this same theory for 3 years now. I need information from people who have felt the slow progression of this condition.

  1. Hello ! COPD always goes hand in hand with Bowel issues. Mainly caused by bloating to due Co2 Retention or medication side effects to name two of the most common reasons. It is ALWAYS the best course of action to keep in communication with your Dr's to manage your secondary symptoms that can turn into something serious in a flash.
My Mom's Bowel issues got progressively worse- as her medication increased, pain meds were added, and her appetite lessened, and her desire to keep hydrated reduced as well.
Nothing like the introduction to regular enemas into the careplan to further the bonding experience of caregiving!
In case you have not seen some of the articles on COPD and Bloating.. Please take a look, you may get some additional insight into your search to firm up your theory- Good Luck..!

    1. Julie thank you for that link. I will go and look at it. I am having fecal incontinence and I was told it was due to radiation therapy and lack of a gall bladder, it could actually be all 3.

      1. many in our community have shared that incontinence is something they deal with! Especially when they are short of breath. Here are a few articles on it: https://copd.net/living/an-embarrassing-situation All the best, Sam S. (COPD team).
