Medicines

Hi guys im still coming to terms with my stage 4 diagnosis on july 5 and they have me on a new inhaler and also i have an infection in my lungs atm but anyway thats the good news so ill pass on the bad. But as im newly diagnosed at 51 years young relatives are slowly getting the news about me and honestly they can be very annoying. I know they are concerned but they need not be as i keep telling them ive 20yrs to live lol. I just wanted to know if anyone else gets any back pain from coughing or is this because of the copd. The pain isnt debilitating and i only had a ctscan afew weeks back so i presume its nothing else. The answer to all my questions is probably somewhere in this site but id rather just ask and hope i can get an answer and maybe connect with some1

  1. Hi again, - you have certainly come to the right place. I am hopeful others in the community will reach out and 'connect' with you by sharing their own personal experiences managing this disease (COPD).
How are you responding to the new inhaler?
Sometimes, it can take a while for one's family to understand all there is to know about COPD. Perhaps you will want to share some of the information you'll find here with them. Do you think that might help?
In our experience, there are all different types of pain that may be associated with this disease. I thought, should you want to know more, you might gain some additional insight from any of these articles which focus on COPD and (back) pain: https://copd.net/search?s=COPD%20back%20pain. I do hope you find the information is helpful in a practical way.
    Wishing you well,
    Leon (site moderator COPD.net)
