Medicare plan

Which plan is best for those with copd. I have reg. Medicare and Express Scripts as drug program. , but it is changing and cost is doubling.

  1. Hi crazy2018, and thanks for your post and question. Since everyone's circumstances are different, we sadly are unable to provide you with an answer that is correct for you. Since we are currently in the middle of the 'open enrollment period', you may be seeing all sorts of advertisements about one (Medicare) plan or another.
This is something you will have to look into to see what is the best specific plan for yourself and your own individual situation.
Perhaps others will chime in here and provide insight as to how they are making this selection.
    What do you think?

    1. I haven't looked yet, but I need to. On your Medicare account web page there is a fully searchable (or so the Medicare email told me) index of programs available to you in your area to help you do this research. I have a Plan G plus SilverScript Prescription plan supplemental to my regular Medicare coverage that covers most everything but that pesky $203 annual deductible. So my out of pocket costs are no more than a few dollars a month for prescriptions. But it is costly (close to $350 a month total), so I need to do some shopping. I need more room in my budget for rent and other rising costs, so something has to give. Aargh! Good luck!

      1. Hi kloker, and thanks for lending your own support and encouragement here. We also appreciate you sharing your own personal experience using the Medicare system here with the community.
We appreciate your input and your feedback.
        All the best,

    2. Yes , since most of us with copd have similar needs , I thought this might be a better place to ask.

      1. When we were eligible for Medicare, we had a sales woman for a medical advantage plan come to our house to helps explain all the pros and cons. She told us about a prescription plan our state offered if you fell below a certain income level. That was the one where prescriptions were really affordable. See what your state has to offer!

        1. Hi two villages and thanks for sharing your own personal experiences dealing with the Medicare system. It can be such an advantage to have a (trustworthy) salesperson come to the house to discuss all the options.
We appreciate you sharing this with the community.
          All the best,
