Lung transplant

My pulmonary doctor said I could be a candidate for double lung transplant. I want to have a second opinion.,or some other options. Do I go to another hospital?

  1. Hi CM2906, and thanks for your post and your question - it's a good one!
From my own perspective, being a viable candidate for lung transplantation is a good thing. Is this suggestion from your current pulmonary physician viewed as being good news by you?
To answer your question, to seek out a 2nd opinion as to whether you are a good candidate for the lung transplantation procedure, you can choose to see another pulmonologist, a chest surgeon (who would be doing the procedure), or an alternate hospital that has the capacity to perform the procedure.
The decision and choice would naturally, be yours.
    What do you think?
