I still don't understand

Docs told me that I have mild emphesema, Broncieastatis and alpha 1.
Live healthy and you won't struggle too much they said.

Well I haven't felt well for about four years now with chest tightness and symptoms and even went to a private specialist during lockdown who did spirometry and found no issues. He did an x-ray and it was noted on that one that I had slightly over inflated lungs but never mentioned on any of the multiple imaging I've had since

Fast forward to this year and the above issues found on CT scan , and spirometry still ok.

Why am I struggling so much with chest tightness and pressure each day? Sometimes in my neck too

I'm under a cardiologist and have had a cardiac CT with dye, around seven months ago to check heart

I just don't know. This doesn't feel mild to me

  1. Hi . We are not medical experts, so we can't explain what is going on, but you know your body best. If it feels like something is not right, something probably is not right. Have you considered getting a second opinion? Do you feel like the cardiologist is doing all the right tests? I wish I had better answers. Hopefully, others can offer more insight. Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. alpha one antitripsy deficiency affects the lungs. To see if you need treatment your doctor needs to order a blood test to check your levels. Hope this helps.

      1. Pickledonion I would see a pulmonologist for this.
