How to you pay for expensive inhalers like symbicourt?

How do you pay for expensive medication like inhalers?

  1. Just breathe,
When I got out of the hospital and was prescribed Symbicort and Pro Air HFA, my doctor suggested I sign up for the Prescription Assistance Program at the hospital I was in and where he is a resident doctor. I applied and got accepted. I pay 15 dollars a month for my inhalers. I have to re-apply yearly, but I am still enrolled. There are programs by the pharma companies themselves to help you afford your meds. I got lucky with my doctor pointing me in the right direction. Take care and God Bless!

    1. I also got assistance thru extra help program it's incomes based hope it will continue next year if not I will be in a bad place 😉 keeping my fingers crossed

    2. Hi CM08d6d9, and thanks for chiming in here and sharing your own particular situation securing medications at a better rate. I am glad to hear you were accepted into a program and can take advantage of the reduced rate. Since you have an entire year ahead of you to enjoy the discounted medications, I would suggest you not be concerned about it just yet. (no one needs that extra stress!) Perhaps when there are about 3-months left you can start to look into the program again. By then you may be accepted yet again or, be able to figure out what your next (savings) opportunity will be. What do you think?

  2. Have you tried for the generic of this? Breyna is the name I believe. What about checking GoodRX, RX Outreach or similar type sites. Here is a link to manufacture also of Symbicourt https://www.mysymbicort.com/cost-assistance.html Hope one of these might be helpful. Maybe there is something else the doctor could prescribe if none of the above is helpful? Best of luck, sure do understand where you are at.

    1. Thanks to all that responded. I will check into these things!

      1. Thanks I sure will
