Holiday gifts for those with COPD

Now that we're in the holiday season, what is a good gift to get for someone with COPD?

  1. MY SONS GAVE ME THE ( LIFE ELERT) SYSTEM BECAUSE I LIVE ALONE AND IT GIVES THEM PIECE OF MINE. IT ALSO HAS A NECKLACE AND WATCH THAT I WEAR IN CASE I CANT GET TO A TELEPHONE I FEEL MUCH SAFER NOW AND IT WAS A GREAT XMAS GIFT THAT I KEPT REFUSING TO GET MY SELF. HOPE THIS NEW YEAR WILL BRING ME SOME PEACE AND NOT SUFFER SO MUCH BREATHING?

    1. What a wonderful gift! I have had the system in the past. My husband just retired and is home more often so I stopped using it. Until his retirement I was home alone all day and It gave me such peace knowing it was with me all the time. I think you will feel safer with it.

    2. Hi again, Beverly - thanks so much for sharing the information about this very practical and very important holiday gift from your sons. From all of your posts (back in 2019), when you joined our community, you seem to be very fortunate to have such devoted and compassionate sons. The clearly love you very much.
I'm glad to hear this system (Life Alert), gives you such peace of mind while you are now even safer at home.
As always, it's good to see you posting here on a regular and consistent basis.
      Happy, healthy New Year, Beverly!
      Warmly,

  2. One Christmas we decided to give ourselves a gift and it was a remote start for our car, as we lived in a northern climate.
How nice it was to hop into a nice warm car, or a comfortably cool car in the summertime.
    Love it!

    1. Hi heuchera, and thanks for joining in this conversation. That is a very welcome and extremely practical gift for oneself. This is such a handy feature of keeping a car! We appreciate your input here with the community. Leon (site moderator COPD.net)
