Deciphering Spirometry test results

I would like a second or even third opinion on the results of my Spirometry test. First time I took the test 2 years ago one doc told me “good news, you have asthma which can be controlled”.

But, I Just finished another test last week and this doc says I have Moderate Stage 2 Copd.
Maybe I have both but I wonder if I show my results of the test on this group can one explain which numbers mean Copd stage 2 or asthma?
Thanks in advance.

  1. Hi fifa, and thanks for your post. You may be aware we are unable to provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety). This also includes the results of diagnostic studies. However, your concern certainly warrants a reply.
It's always a challenge when diagnoses vary from doctor to doctor.
However, there is a possibility that you may actually have both asthma and COPD.
Many folks in our community have shared they have been diagnosed with both conditions.
You may want to pick the physician who is providing your care currently and discuss your concerns with him/her. The doctor should be able to explain this to you in more depth.
Please do check back and let us know how this all turns out for you.
    Wishing you well,
