Third dose of Covid-19 Vaccine
My pulmonary MD strongly suggested I receive the third dose (Booster) for the Covid-19. My first two doses were the recommended three weeks apart in Feb. and March, 2021. Third dose was Sept. 1, 2021. Very much earlier than the suggested 8 month waiting period. Any input?

Hi ziel (Elizabeth), and thanks for your post and expressing your concern about the booster shot vaccination. I see my colleague,, has already responded and also provided a link to information from the CDC.
There still seems to be some discussion surrounding the timing of the booster injection (6 months versus 8 months). The hospital where I work has not made the decision yet as to which timeline to follow. Anecdotally, one of my colleagues is at the 8-month juncture now. He was tested and his antibodies are high so he still feels protected.
I concur as well with Samantha's suggestion that you take this up further with the very doctor who suggested you take the vaccine at the 6-month point in time.

I received the Pfizer vaccine. I would also like to comment that with the first two doses, I had no reactions at all except for the sore arm. After the third dose I had a slight fever, sore muscles and in general just not feeling well. Lasted for two days. Not sick enough to stay in bed, just feeling lousy. Hope this helps.
