COPD and CHF

Is it common for COPD to be coupled with Conjestive Heart Failure?
For over a year I was getting what I can only describe as Violent attacks ; couldnt breath and heart rate spiked and my Doctors treated it as strictly A pulmonary issue until August when I was Hospitalized and my condition was linked to CHF . I am now on Heart and Blood preasure meds and the "Attacks" have stoped.
Has anyone else experianced any thing similiar ?

  1. Per by family experience, YES , grandfather and father both lived many years with both. Both can be managed at the same time, thank goodness! I found a link or two for you, hope they are helpful. Hope you start feeling better soon!

  2. Hi CHF is a comorbidity of COPD so there are people in our community who have shared their experience managing both conditions. In addition to the information shared above we have a few articles you might find helpful: https://copd.net/living/links-heart-failure and https://copd.net/basics/conditions/cardiovascular-conditions and https://copd.net/living/american-heart-month All the best, Sam S.
