i look forward to reading your responses .

  1. Hi and thanks for your post. Please know that, as a newcomer, you are always welcome in our online community! It's understandable that everything you are managing now (caring for your husband as well as facing your own recent breathing issues), can be somewhat overwhelming.
I hear your concerns about wanting to know more from folks who are taking the same medications that you are. Perhaps, there will still be responses from the community in that regard.
In the meantime, I thought you might gain some insight for the medications you expressed an interest in, Ventolin (albuterol) and Atrovent (ipratropium). Let me see if I can provide you with some information in the way of reading material.
First, please take a look at this article, which reviews several medications used to treat COPD: https://copd.net/clinical/6-nebulizer-medicines. You will see the first two medications discussed are Ventolin (albuterol), and Atrovent (ipratropium).
Next, kindly take a look at this article: https://copd.net/clinical/albuterol-ipratropium-bromide-difference, which reviews the difference between the two medications.
I do hope this information is helpful for you, in a practical way.
If there is anything we can do to assist you, please let me or any other moderator / team member know. We are here to help, provide information, share anecdotal experiences and, to lend an empathetic ear.
    Warm regards,

    1. Hi , Leon L . so much for the imformation it was very interesting reading , i am having an echocardiogram on monday and then hopefully a discussion with my consultant as to changing my inhalers , this productive cough is driving me mad it’s gone on so long . thankyou once again ,

      1. Hi again, georgina - it is my pleasure! I am glad to hear the information was helpful to you. It sounds like you are on track to (perhaps) adjust your medications, if needed, when you talk with the consultant. I want to wish you 'good luck' with the diagnostic echocardiogram, scheduled for Monday, too.
Please do check back when you are able and let us know how this all (the echocardiogram and conversation), turns out for you. We have a genuine concern for your good health!
        Warm regards,
Leon L (author / site moderator)
