Air quality from wild fires

I was wondering if others are feeling bad with the air quality from the wild fires?

  1. Hi , and thanks for your post. Somehow, I did not see your comment when you first put it up here - I apologize for the delay.
As best as I can tell, there are many folks who were struggling with the atmosphere being affected by the Canadian wildfires. I saw a lot of comments on our COPD Facebook main page as well as our asthma Facebook main page.
I do not recall seeing any comments here on COPD.net. If they are here, they did not turn up using the basic 'search' function.
However, if you're interested, we do have a number of articles published, which addressed this concern with the community. For your convenience, here is a link to one of those articles: https://copd.net/living/wildfires.
Did the air quality affect you? Is there anything further you are able to share with the community at this time?

    1. Hi there. As Leon said, I don't recall seeing anything about it here, but there has been some talk about it on our sister site, Asthma.net. It seems like many people were impacted by the fires and smoke, even if they didn't have health issues. It certainly was intense in the Northeast U.S. where I live. How are you feeling now? Hope you're OK. -Melissa, copd.net team

      1. I live in Michigan and I have experienced more flare ups since January then ever before since I was diagnosed with COPD 15 years ago. I've been wearing a mask when I go out on alert days, don't know if it works or not but makes me feel like I'm being proactive in preventing a flare up. Otherwise I try not to go out on those days unless I absolutely have to.
