A Couple of Life's Precious Moments

This past weekend I had a couple of Life's Precious Moments. My wife and I typically get our two grandsons (7 and 3 1/2) on Fridays to give the parents a break and we love having them over to our house. On this past Friday, one of the activities I did for them was let them play and record their own ideas of music on my keyboard and 24 track recording unit. They each did a short (40 sec) idea of their own and chose an instrument of their liking off the keyboard. They both did surprisingly well. When Mom came to pick them up in the evening, of course she had to listen to their music. Just seeing their reaction to her listening to their creations was absolutely Precious! The pride and joy in their faces was heart warming for me. Then yesterday, my wife went and picked up the youngest grandson at a volunteer event they were doing for Thanksgiving because he was tired and bored. They were doing the Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless and poor members of our community. While our grandson was here, him and I were watching Mark Rober on You Tube. The kids like learning from him. After the video was over, my grandson laid on the couch beside me and placed his arm across my abdomen. He looked up at me and said, "you're my best buddy!" And gave me a big hug. That melted my heart. I guess the whole point of this post is that there are so many precious moments to be thankful for in our lifetime. I do not want to waste enjoying these type of moments by being depressed, sad, or having the blues because of my COPD and the things it prevents me from doing. I want to enjoy every moment I can for as log as I can. Take care all. Thanks for reading and God Bless!

  1. What a lovely thread you started here & how grateful I am to be reading this. It’s truly inspiring.
Your family sounds so wonderful & the memories that were created will last a life time.
Your grandson looking up to you & telling you, “you’re my best buddy” is so precious & floods your heart with so much love.
That the younger grandson was involved in preparations for Thanksgiving or just being there speaks volumes about your family.
It’s so wonderful to hear you involve them with your music and other educational pursuits. You’re helping to raise some fine human beings and that is something to be extremely proud of.
I think from now on I’ll pretend it’s Thanksgiving each and every day. That helps you to be more aware of all the incredible beauty in life.
I hope you and your family have a lovely Thanksgiving and make lots of new memories.
May God bless all of you.

    1. Oh I love hearing and having those moments! Thank you so much, pleasure to read about others. I am excited for our grandchildren are coming in for the Holiday, my spirit is up and ready for the crazy silliness they bring. Great way to introducing with into not only what you love, but helpfully they will too! Happy Thanksgiving to ALL

Yea, the grandkids are a hoot sometimes. A couple weeks ago, the youngest was sitting in the LazyBoy chair with my wife and she was reading him a children's book. He stops her in the middle of the book and points to her cleavage and says, "that looks like a butt crack!" How can you not laugh? It was so innocent and cute though. That child is a real trip sometimes. Anyways, you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and try not to over eat too much! Take care and God Bless!

          1. oh my goodness, you've got to love the bluntness and honesty from a child. I literally laughed out loud. Thanks for sharing. You do the same. God bless ❤️
