A few community members have mentioned that managing COPD day-to-day can be stressful and often cause anxiety. Does anyone have any tips or strategies for handling stress?

Thanks for sharing tips how to manage stress with copd. I am disabled with good and anxiety disorder. Being a caregiver for my wife who is disabled also is a very stressful situation. I have learned my limits, and when feeling out of breath, I stop and take a time out. Seeing my psych and taking my meds as directed helps me to manage my stress. You have to accept your inability to do things you use to, and know when to rest when feeling overwhelmed. Prayer and meditation gets me through every day. God Bless and easy does it.

Hi Bassman,
Thanks for sharing your experience here, and it sounds like you're doing a great job balancing being a caregiver for your wife with taking breaks when you need to - that is so important! We're so glad you have learned your limits, and also that you're taking care of yourself by going to the doctor and taking your meds as prescribed. Great job!!! These are wonderful things that you're doing.
